Dizzy

Dizzy is the one band playing SookeFEST to originate from Sooke, BC., a small town half an hour's drive from Victoria, the capital city of British Columbia. This band was formed in early 1998, comprised of Stefano Pasta, Colin Gauther, Christer Michael James, and Peter Bell.

The name Dizzy comes from the diversity of the group. Stafano is the group's drummer and percussion artist, joining his first band at age 12 and later winning a drum competition sponsored by 99.3 The Fox and Molson at age 15. Colin, the group's guitarist, has been playing for around nine years. Christer expresses his feelings through the music via lead vocals as well as acoustic guitar. And Peter, the excellent listener, ties into the group with bass.

Once these four are combined, they create a blend of intriguing sounds, best described as "groove-based, topped with haunting melodies and dark rhythms, that are always delivered with passion and conviction."

Since 1998, Dizzy has accomplished the first steps. Numerous gigs, live radio performance, finishing first place in a battle of the bands and earning a respected following throughout Vancouver Island, has helped this band climb it's way up the ladder. This August, they'll play SookeFEST along with other big name artists, Big Sugar and Wide Mouth Mason.

Dizzy's goals are to keep connect with people everywhere through their music and performances.
